Winter Solstice

Happy Winter!

It will be nice to see increasing hours of sunshine starting tomorrow. There is still much preparation to be completed before Dec 25th, but the end is in sight! The sunshine on the snow outside my window is beautiful.

After Xmas there will be some major clearing out & reorganizing. I'm looking forward to a new and improved sewing area, providing a little more productivity. There may be quite a bit of de-stash activity on etsy & ebay.

I've started to split my listings into 4 separate Etsy shops, according to the type of item:

It will take a while to get everything moved, but once moved I think it will provide a more organized way of finding things!

I'm also looking into Polyphasic sleep. Have you ever tried it?

Embroidery Party coming soon!

Where did summer go?

Well, I think we relaxed it away. And, had a great time doing it. We are well rested & ready to get back to work.

Tomorrow we start a new school year. And, an new listing frenzy on Etsy & Ebay.

And the invitations for our semi-annual Embroidery Party go out. What is an Embroidery Party? I invite friends & customers to stop by during a 3 day period. They receive a Christmas shopping planner & an overview of what can be embroidered. They can shop from existing items, or place a custom order. So many customers were coming to me in December to have things custom made for Christmas - this is my way of helping them to think ahead a little bit!

I plan to finish everything early this year - and ENJOY my Holiday Season!

Extreme Makeover

Well the Extreme Makeover on my 13 year old son's room is more than half done! He went away to camp for 2 weeks. He helped us clear everything out just before he left. Then we painted a calming pale green mint color, recommended by a Feng Shui friend.

He does not know that we are selling all of his old furniture on Craig's list in Rochester, NY. He does not know that all the furniture will be new (to him). He did know about the new queen size bed. He is getting so tall that he outgrew a twin. He can sleep diagonally on his new bed.

For his dresser we purchased a 5 drawer lateral file cabinet. I think he will really love how easy it will be to put away his clothes. I plan to video tape the reveal on Saturday. I can't wait.

This week while waiting for the furniture to be delivered I plan a makeover on my etsy store. I have already changed the featured items. I plan to add Halloween & Christmas, for those who like to plan ahead or snap up a bargain.

There will be a Christmas in July on Etsy starting about July 15th, 2008.

New to ETSY

First blog entry:
SEW Artistic is almost 1 month on ETSY, selling embroidered items I've made, and learning a ton about the site. I really like it because its streamlined and very easy to use. I love having 5 photos for every item! I've also sold 5 thing already! Yeah!!! And thanks to my customers!!!

Starting tomorrow I'll be participating in the YART Sale on ETSY. Marking things down like a Yard Sale, and adding lots of new things I'd like to clear out. Join the fun!
