RAFA Branching Out Exhibit: 8/23/12-10/1/12
Rochester Area Fiber Artists (RAFA) is pleased to announce their exhibit,”Branching Out”,
in the Williams Gallery of the First Unitarian Church of Rochester, 220 Winton Road South,
Rochester, NY 14610. The exhibit runs from 8/23/12 through 10/1/12 with an opening
reception on Friday, August 24, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
Gallery hours are M-F from 10am-2pm and 4:30pm-8pm.
It’s a good idea to call the church office at 585-271-9070 to confirm the hours.
RAFA is a group of up to 50 fiber artists who work in fiber based media, such as quilting,
surface design, wearable art, felt, fiber based jewelry and paper. The “Branching Out” theme
emphasizes this diversity in the fiber arts of RAFA though works representing members’
exploration into new materials, complexity and direction. RAFA members have been published
and their works have been included in regional, national and international solo and group
shows.

Kids Can Sew Summer Camp July 2012
July 23, 24 Monday & Tuesday: Kids Can Sew #1 In this class we learn the basics & make 3 projects (Sewing Kits, Pillowcase, and Tote Bag).
July 25, 26, 27 Wed, Thurs, Fri: Kids Can Sew Recycled: We make 5 projects from one used pair of Jeans the students bring with them.
Both classes are great fun! Small class sizes ensure lots of personal attention. These classes are held at Perinton Recreation on Turk Hill Road.
